Hi I'm Bob
What are my credentials to be your Press Officer ?
Well I freelanced for the BBC for over 20 years as a studio assistant , presenter, outside broadcast engineer and occasional producer.I have been the York and Hull District Communications Officer since 1980 and took the "job" here in Lincoln and Grimsby at the request of David Perry. I also for the past few years have been responsible for the Methodist Conference Broadcast Studio
I have recently been appointed to the National Executive of the CHURCHES MEDIA COUNCIL. A body that represents the Churches view to the Broadcasting Authorities, Looks after the interests of Religious Broadcasters and Journalists. It also is consulted on Policy matters by OFCOM and The BBC.
During those years I have built up a large contacts list with many local and National Media.
The Media is there for your use! There are times when they are desparate for stories, other times they could not care less, but if the story is put to them in the right way then there is a chance for publication.(no guarantees ?).
If you have any stories or events that you want publicising then send them to me and I will do my best to get the media to publish them. or we may be able to use them on the web site especially if photographs are attached.
In this "secular" society it is getting more and more difficult to get the Media to accept a church based story [unless it involves scandle] so a large data base of contacts is now essential.
I can also arrange training in the ways of the media, ie Press releases, Interview techniques,or being interviewed. again if you would like this training contact me "BOB LAWE" .
