District Advance Fund Guidance notes
The Methodist Church Lincoln and Grimsby District
District Advance Fund
THE PURPOSE OF THE FUND
The District Advance Fund (DAF) is
“... for the purpose of making grants …..for the support of personnel ..
for property schemes ... and for ecumenical work.”
SO 963(3)
... to assist work focused on the Connexional and district priorities
of mission and mission projects.
Comments from some recipients of Grants from the Fund
‘The grant enabled us to increase greatly the number of people who enter the chapel on a regular basis. It has helped our project meet our expectations and made us more ’famous’ in the area. It’s a good use of District money to ‘beef up’ chapels and bring them into line with what people expects these days’
‘The work towards which the grant contributed has enabled us to provide a warm and welcoming place. A greater number of the community have come into events and that has extended into an increase in membership of church groups, commence new groups in which our members are involved and extend our pastoral care through improved links and relationships’.
‘Without your assistance we would have missed the opportunity of a project worker making significant and meaningful contacts with people of no church background, some of who are responding to the Gospel.’
" Without vision the people perish... " (Prov 29:18)
THE GRANT MAKING PROCESS IS A PARTNERSHIP.
A member of the District Resourcing Mission Group will be happy to visit you to look at your project and to give advice.
