Creating Safer Space

Spring sees the first in a new wave of awareness training on the complex issue of safeguarding and child protection. 

The training covers 4 modules in total and to assist those who work with Young People and Children in a voluntary capacity we are holding a District Day to look at Module A (Part 1) of the course which focuses on building awareness.

Every volunteer who works with Children and Young People will need to attend this training in due course but this is an advanced chance to learn alongside those with a similar calling and focus on the issues when working closely with Children and Young People in particular. 

The session will be held on 20 March 2010 at Horncastle Church and begin at 1.30pm, finishing around 3.45pm. It will be run by the DTO with the help of childcare professionals from our local communities. 

NOTE : This meeting has been organised to coincide with the next Youth Committee meeting which is starting at 11.30am on the 20 th March too.  If you attend that meeting regularly then please note this in your diary and come along at the earlier time.  If you are attending this meeting you will need to bring your lunch.
