District Development Enabler (DDE)

| The post of DDE is new to Methodism. It begins on the first of
September 2008.
As well as being DDE for the Lincoln & Grimsby District I also undertake the same role in the Nottingham & Derby District.
The key tasks envisaged for the role are:
- To enable the Districts to respond to the challenge of the
Mapping the Way Forward: Regrouping for Mission process.
- To facilitate and organise the implementation of District
initiatives arising from the Priorities for the Methodist Church.
- To facilitate change within the Districts in response to the changing context of its mission and ministries.
- To enable circuits and local churches to make best use of resources–people, property and finance.
- To share insights and examples of best practice from the Districts, Circuits and local Churches with other colleagues and the Connexional Team.
The focus of the role in the first months is to work with the District and circuits as they review their work and make decisions which will guide the way in which they exercise mission and ministry in the coming years.

The M:Guides
The M:Guides are a series of study materials primary for use by small groups. They can be downloaded and used by small groups in your church.

- Priorities for The Methodist Church is a series of Bible studies based around passages from the Acts of The Apostles encouraging discussion and reflection on the Priorities.
The Missing Generation
- This is a challenging report on conversations which were had with people in the age-group 25-40 - the so called Missing Generation - who are still within the Church. It raises serious issues for churches who want o engage with meaningfully with that age group.
