The Church exists to increase awareness of God's
presence and to celebrate God's love.
Colossians 1:15-20
Starter: [In pairs]. Describe a party or celebration you have been to recently. Who /What was it for?
Worship: Sing or listen to a joyful song of praise to Jesus. Celebrate your experience of God and pray that his Spirit will guide your reflection together.
Reading:Colossians 1:15-20
Read aloud, then allow time for everyone to re-read for themselves along with the commentary and the questions – and reflect alone.
Commentary: This passage celebrates the all-inclusive nature of Christ. It describes his relationship to God [v.15], his role in creation [v.16-17], his position in the church [v.18] and his reconciling role in bringing all people back to God [v.19-20]. Christ, therefore, is involved in all aspects of our lives and is worthy of our worship and celebration for all that He is.
