COMMENTARY
The relevance of these paragraphs to our present experience is obvious. Christ the Son of Man continues to offer the summons, “Follow me!” It echoes around the world today through the witnesses to Jesus like Philip. From their experience of Jesus they invite others to ‘Come and see'. It reaches overshadowed people like Andrew; explosive, potential leaders like Peter; withdrawn, struggling characters like Philip; earnest, ingenuous souls like Nathanael; and so to every type of personality.
